Podcast Studio near Shoreditch – a short hop up Hackney Road
Love the Shoreditch energy but not the Shoreditch prices? The First Studio is a short trip up Hackney Road in Bethnal Green. We're a welcoming, independent studio with two rooms for podcasts, video and photos. To be upfront, we're not in Shoreditch itself. We're about a 10–15 minute bus ride away, with studio time from £85/hr and no VAT on top.
What's included
Studio 101 is our warm, brown-panelled podcast and video studio. It has professional microphones, a multi-camera HD setup, studio lighting, audio recording equipment and a flexible layout for one-to-one chats or small panels.
Studio 102 is a bright, soft-cream studio for photography, filming, content days and dry hire. Bring your own kit or use ours.
Until 31 December 2026, a technician is included at no extra charge (normally £50/hr). They'll handle the set-up, levels and cameras so you can concentrate on the conversation. Need more? We offer episode editing and social clips, so your session can go straight onto YouTube, Spotify and your socials.
Prices
Studio 102: £85/hr (two-hour minimum), half day (4 hours) £323, full day (8 hours) £646.
Studio 101: £110/hr (two-hour minimum), half day (4 hours) £418, full day (8 hours) £836.
With an engineer (normally): +£50/hr, £523 / £618 for a half day and £1,046 / £1,236 for a full day.
Engineer free on half and full days until 31 December 2026. Half and full days save 5% on studio hire. There's no VAT, and four attendees are included (extra guests are £20 per person, per hour).
Getting here from Shoreditch
By bus (easiest): the 26 (from Shoreditch High Street station or Shoreditch Church) and the 55 (from Old Street or Shoreditch Church) both run straight up Hackney Road. Get off at Pritchard's Road or Cambridge Heath station, then it's a couple of minutes' walk to Emma Street. Allow roughly 10–15 minutes, depending on traffic.
By train: from Liverpool Street, the London Overground runs to Cambridge Heath in a few minutes, and the station is about 3–5 minutes' walk from the studio.
On foot: walking from Shoreditch Church along Hackney Road takes around 25–30 minutes.
From Hoxton station: about a 10-minute walk.

Are you in Shoreditch?
No. We're in Bethnal Green at Containerville, 1 Emma Street, E2 9FP. That's a direct bus ride up Hackney Road, usually about 10–15 minutes from Shoreditch.
How do I get there from Shoreditch?
Take the 26 or 55 bus up Hackney Road to Pritchard's Road or Cambridge Heath station. You can also take the Overground from Liverpool Street to Cambridge Heath.
Is there VAT on top?
No. The First Studio Group Ltd isn't VAT registered, so the price shown is final.
Can we record a business or B2B podcast?
Yes. Studio 101 is set up for multi-camera video podcasts and interviews, and we can add editing and social clips.
How many people can attend?
Four attendees are included. Extra guests are £20 per person, per hour.
